Theresa Burcsu

Secretary

Theresa adopted Oregon as her home state in 2006, but fell in love with the region’s mountains, forests, and high deserts while visiting 13 years earlier. Theresa currently manages the Science and Analytics group with The Freshwater Trust. Before that, she served as the Oregon GIS Framework Coordinator with the State of Oregon’s Geospatial Enterprise Office, working to ensure wide-spread access to authoritative map data needed for daily living, work, and beyond. Theresa is passionate about spreading understanding of the dynamic patterns and processes on which biodiversity depends. As a Girl Scout troop co-leader, she works to help girls integrate conservation and landscape-level thinking into all of their activities. Theresa also serves as President of the Oregon Chapter of Urban and Regional Information Systems.
