MATTHEW TANNENBAUM

As a lifelong surfer, Matthew has always had a strong connection with the natural environment, which helped push him to be active in conservation and politics. At the University of Oregon, he earned a degree in Political Science with a minor in Environmental Studies. His time in Eugene also exposed him to the expansive and beautiful public lands of the Pacific Northwest, particularly the National Forest system.

Early in his career, Matthew worked as a field and political organizer – and for the last decade, he has worked as a communications strategist. He is proud to help environmental nonprofits, labor unions, and all manner of political campaigns accomplish their goals as an independent consultant under the name Fir Tree Media & Strategies.

Matthew currently lives in SW Portland with his partner and their dog Cedar.
